Storage and hybridisation strategy: screening 300+ sites for standalone BESS
Evaluation and prioritisation of 300+ sites for standalone BESS projects, with a technical office producing all documentation for guarantees and TSO grid-access applications, plus business-case modelling using proprietary software.
The client needed storage solutions that were economically viable and compliant with a still-evolving regulatory framework, and a way to turn a very large land funnel into a prioritised pipeline.
One Hub Energy provided regulatory and strategic advisory to align the approach with current regulation and anticipated policy shifts. On project valuation, we modelled and valued the standalone BESS business case using our proprietary software: cost estimates based on concrete site opportunities, revenue potentials and operational cash flows under different market scenarios. One Hub Energy then assessed and prioritised over 300 land plots on site suitability and feasibility — proximity to infrastructure, land use and environmental regulation — and acted as technical office for the permitting process, managing the documentation and application process for grid connection and advising on securing the necessary permits and guarantees.
"300+ land plots were assessed and prioritised and the full documentation package was prepared to obtain TSO grid access for the BESS pipeline."
