Sourcing a 100-150 GWh/year baseload corporate PPA and a 4.7 MW on-site plant for Covestro's Tarragona site

Covestro needed to cover 100-150 GWh per year of baseload demand at its Tarragona production site with a corporate renewable PPA. A volume of that size in the Spanish market means comparing structures and counterparties that are not directly comparable on paper. In parallel, the site had room for on-site generation, which had to be assessed as part of the same supply decision rather than separately.

One Hub Energy defined the PPA strategy and analysed the Spanish market for the required baseload profile. It then designed and executed the RFQ, and identified and shortlisted 10-12 PPA suppliers against that strategy. One Hub Energy structured the term sheet and supported Covestro through the negotiation. Under the same engagement, One Hub Energy tendered an on-site PV generation solution for the industrial site, so the on-site option and the contracted supply were evaluated on a common basis.
