Second-life battery strategy for hybrid and electric vehicle prototypes
Strategic consultancy to manage and revalue a growing volume of prototype EV/PHEV batteries, a reuse, resale and recycling strategy aligned with corporate ESG goals, with second-life market assessment and operational structuring.
A growing volume of batteries fitted to hybrid (PHEV) and electric (BEV) vehicle prototypes was reaching end of life, and the client needed a way to manage and revalue it in line with its ESG targets.
One Hub Energy built a comprehensive strategy for the valorisation, repurposing and recycling of end-of-life EV battery packs. The work included a full second-life market assessment for the resale of used packs, testing market potential and appetite across different second-life applications; a structured recycling approach covering hazardous logistics planning and the assessment of packaging options and providers for defective or critical batteries; and operational structuring, with technical support on the operational and contractual processes required to make the resale model real and compliant with applicable regulations.
"A technical procedure for repurposing second-life batteries was delivered, together with the commercial strategy and the contractual terms for their resale."
