Altano
Ten storage projects into the FEDER auction, and the next round of schemes mapped
Preparation and submission of Spanish FEDER state-aid applications for ten of Altano's storage projects totalling 277 MW / 690 MWh, with basic engineering and cost estimates for each, followed by an eligibility screening of newly opened subsidy schemes.
Altano held a hybrid and storage project portfolio of 277 MW / 690 MWh and wanted to take it into Spain's FEDER state-aid call. Competitive calls of this kind are won or lost on documentation: each project has to arrive with engineering and costs consistent enough to be scored, and the submission has to be built against the call's evaluation criteria rather than against the developer's internal logic. Doing that for ten projects at once, to a fixed deadline, was the real constraint.
One Hub Energy prepared and supported the submission of the FEDER state-aid grant applications for Altano's storage projects. For every project in the portfolio we produced basic engineering documentation and the associated cost estimates, and valued the projects using One Hub Analytics so the figures presented were built on a consistent modelling basis. The applications were then aligned to the call's evaluation criteria rather than assembled generically. In 2026 the mandate continued beyond FEDER: One Hub Energy identified and analysed newly opened Spanish subsidy schemes relevant to Altano — including the REPOTEN-2 repowering scheme and Orden TED/1444/2025 for standalone storage — and assessed their eligibility and fit against Altano's assets.
"Basic engineering documentation, including cost estimates, was delivered for all projects in the portfolio, and ten projects were presented into the FEDER auction. The follow-on work left Altano with the new grant opportunities mapped and an eligibility assessment for each."
